Kinross High School pupil shares financial services experiences
Kinross High School 5th Year pupil, Rayyan has been undertaking a Foundation Apprenticeship course in Financial Services at UHI Perth since June 2023.
He attends classes every Friday during school term-time and recently attended his first work placement at Aviva in Perth. Feeding back to Headteacher Sarah Brown, he said that he was enjoying the course so far and appreciated the opportunity to find out what it is like to work for a global organisation like Aviva.
Rayyan explained: “The placement was really interesting. I found out about what the different departments at Aviva do, and took part in a group project which involved doing a presentation.”
Sarah Brown, Head Teacher at Kinross High School added: “I was delighted to hear from Rayyan about his Aviva work placement. I believe this has been an incredibly useful opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the workplace, and the skills needed to succeed in the future. I really value the partnership that we have with UHI Perth.”
Lecturer Vicky Gray said: “Rayyan’s hard work and mature attitude means that he continues to excel at the Financial Services course and is looking forward to his second work placement in June.”
