You'll find opportunities for a fascinating career by becoming an optometrist. UHI’s first rate clinical facilities are a highlight for our Optometry students, who are studying at one of only two Scottish universities offering this specialism. This course is practical from the start, with students enjoying placements across a variety of settings in their first year.
Alternatively, choose to study online on Scotland’s only integrative healthcare degree, which has been developed in consultation with industry to closely reflect the changing requirements of the healthcare sector in the UK and abroad.

If you don't initially meet the entry requirements for degree study there is always another route and you may want to consider an HNC or access course.

The huge variety of placements in different clinical environments, have provided some unique learning opportunities and I’ve been able to work alongside specialist nurses, advanced nurse practitioners and consultants, which has helped me learn much more about their respective areas of expertise.
