New opportunities will be listed as they arise, if there is nothing listed below we don't have specific PhD studentship available, but please check this page frequently.
Prospective students in need of funding are advised to start researching funding opportunities well in advance of commencing their studies. AHRC PhD Studentship Competition - now open for October 2025 start
We are seeking outstanding applicants for doctoral AHRC studentships in the five areas of: Archaeology, Gaelic Language & Celtic Studies, History, Northern Studies and Theology.
A select number of studentships will be available for PhD researchers world-wide. Successful applicants will benefit from a fully-funded PhD studentship, including stipend plus fees.
